The Cinder Week Rite
The Cinder Week Rite
Seven mornings, one small act each day. This rite carries you from today to next weekend with steady hands and a clear cup.
Materials
- Your daily coffee or tea
- A small bowl or saucer
- A pinch jar with any two of the following: cinnamon, cardamom, sea salt, cocoa, honey
- Paper and pencil
Day One: Clear
Before the first sip, touch a single grain of sea salt to your tongue. Say, “I begin with truth.” Sip slowly. Pour a few drops from the cup into the bowl to mark your start.
Day Two: Ground
Hold the warm cup with both hands for one full breath. Tap the rim once. Whisper, “I stand where I am.” Add a pinch of cocoa for steadiness and sip.
Day Three: Open
Stir clockwise three times. Name one quality you invite today. Add a touch of honey to sweeten the way. First sip with eyes closed.
Day Four: Release
Stir counterclockwise three times. Name one thing you can lay down. Breathe across the surface and watch the ripples fade. Sip. Empty the last drop into the bowl.
Day Five: Mend
Write a single line to someone you care about, or to yourself. Fold it and place it beneath the cup. Add a pinch of cardamom for honest speech. Sip and send the thought when you are ready.
Day Six: Seed
On a small paper, write one promise you can keep in seven days. Touch the paper to the cup’s warmth. Place it where you will see it. Sip with attention to the first three breaths.
Day Seven: Light
Set the bowl beside the cup. Say, “I carry the ember.” Stir once clockwise to seal, then tap the rim once. After the last sip, pour the contents of the bowl at the base of a plant or tree.
✨ Magick settles where repetition is kind. Seven small circles make one steady path.
Keep it gentle. If you miss a day, begin again the next morning and finish when you can.
